Introduction
This page intends to be the main public information-only page for our project with CAF TG. A key principle that is promoted both by the Code for Canada and the Government of Canada is to promote working in the open as much as possible.
Disclaimer
Understandably, due to confidentiality and security reasons, we can not make the main parts of our fellowship project public. However, we decided to create this public documentation and prototypes page to show the part of the work we can make public. The information hosted here is either already public information or approved by CAF TG for public release. The C4C Transition Centre is just a prototype for showing what is possible from a UX perspective, test some ideas with users as part of the user-centred design and show the benefits of an agile process.

Sprint 0
The 3 days practice sprint was done as part of our Onboarding. The challenge was to improve the experience to find information regarding transition through retirement at the existing Canada.ca page based on some user research reports that were provided to us.

Sprint 1
Member Dashboard & Home Page (Authenticated) - Design and prototype an authenticated personal portal home page that a member lands on after logging-in, which will act as the central portal for personal transition resources and tools.

Sprint 2
Transition Plan with Checklist - Design and prototype member's transition plan that also has a checklist after interviews with veterans as part of the user-centred design.

Sprint 3
Updates to the existing design after users' feedback - Update radio buttons to checkboxes for the domains of wellbeing, green progress bars for positive reinforcement, update labels and descriptions for the personal and TA notes, and simple personal goals alternative.

Sprint 4
Plan calendar view, TA Booking, and updates - Design and prototype calendar view and the TA booking pages. Update the existing transition plan by adding sort by domains of well-being after stakeholders' feedback. Convert the main member's portal clickable image prototype page into HTML.

Sprint 5
Documents centre, notes centre, staff profile, accesibility and updates - Design and prototype documents centre, notes centre and staff profile pages. Add the accesibility checks. Convert the member's plan clickable image prototype page into HTML and update the plan items.

Sprint 6
Message centre, member account, contact us, mock api and breadcrumbs - Design and prototype message centre, member account and contact us pages. Implement the wireframe for the transition plan for sort by due date. Implement a client side mock api and a breadcrumb component.

Sprint 7
Transition user flows, member account implementation, OUTCAN checkbox and updates - Create mocks to visualize userflow into Transition Centre in multiple phases. Convert the member account information clickable image prototype page into HTML. Make updates on the prototype based on the feedback.

Sprint 8
Book a TA consultation notification, communications preferences, code formatting checks - Show a book a consultation notification when the plan is visited for the first time. Convert member account page to be a communications preferences one. Add code formatting checks.

Sprint 9
Centralized state management, persistent storage, implement transition plan functunalities - Implement centralized state management for sharing data across the application. Implement persistent storage for the mock API service. Implement functionalities for the transition plan and remove the unimplemented sections.
Transition User Flows

Phase 1
The Phase 1 will only contain the currently developed software and won't include My Digital Transition Portal.
The designed flow: Canada.ca Military Career Transition -> Digital Transition Centre -> Apply to Transition -> MCS Portal Login -> MCS Portal
Phase 2
The Phase 2 will include My Digital Transition Portal and will use the MCS Portal's secure authentication mechanism.
The designed flow: Canada.ca Military Career Transition -> Digital Transition Centre -> Sign in -> MCS Portal Login -> My Digital Transition Portal
Phase 3
The Phase 3 depends on a future TBS directive and development regarding Sign-in Canada. We believe this can be used as an opportunity to unify authentications for MCS Portal, My Digital Transition Portal and My VAC Account if desired.
